Anyone want to take bets on whether I woke up early and went for a run? No? Yeah that didn’t happen BUT my Dad so graciously went for his second run of the day with me when I got home so I wouldn’t have to run in the dark by myself. He’s where I get my friendly, caring, modest nature from.

Seriously, it was one of those rare runs where you just want to keep going forever and my legs felt tireless. The weather was perfect, the time of day was perfect, and the company was unparalleled. (besides his eskimo Rocky Balboa outfit choice of running attire). I can’t make too much fun of Papa FriendlyRunner though because he can run circles around me. Someday I’m going to be faster than him, but not anytime soon…
Usually, I’m all about running alone but every once in a while I’ll run with a friend or family member and I always wonder why I don’t do it more often after we’re done. That was one heck of a run-on sentence. Having someone to talk to makes runs go by so much faster! Do you run with a running partner or do you prefer running solo? Of course, Pippa is usually along on my runs unless it’s too hot, but she’s basically an extension of me so it doesn’t really count.
Thank goodness it’s almost Friday! Looking forward to drinks after work tomorrow and a beautiful friend’s wedding this weekend! Anyone else getting buckwild this weekend? Or better yet, a chance to relax and sleep in? Y’all stay safe and enjoy yourselves this weekend, ya hear?

I do my training runs alone. That being said, if my daughter asked me to run with her (she doesn’t), I’d do it in a second.
You need to pick up some Under Armour for dad so he can lose the 70′s runner look.

Funny thing is, he’s a football and track coach so he has ridiculous amounts of nice under armour and nike running gear in his closet, he just chooses to dress like a dweeb.

Seriously though, I do prefer to run on my own – some quality time to get inside my head. In fact that’s one of the best things about running.

Hahahahahahaha! I feel the same way most of the time (except for I’m more of a social drinker.) And I am all about slow runs (which is probably why I never get any faster.)
Wow… this is a tough crowd in here! My dad wouldn’t go running with me even if I dangled expensive scotch at the finish… so I’m jealous!
Dangle any alcohol in front of me and it’s a done deal! And I know…. my friends are turds.

I love the pic of you and your dad! I like running with my family but my brother is the only one that can keep up with me… actually… I am to slow for him!
My Dad is WAY faster than me… which is usually why I don’t run with him (he always tries to trick me into running faster and it’s miserable.)
I am pretty much a solo runner… thinking I need to hit here soon this morning as the temp is 55 here in the midwest in Jan!! crazy. That being said I do like the challenge of running with someone some times!
These temperature are crazy! I ran in humid 69 degree weather yesterday, and I woke up this morning to 32 degrees. And I totally agree about the challenge… my times are definitely better when I run with others.
Is it just me, or is there a new look to your blog? You probably changed it a month or so ago and I am just now noticing. Great…I just pointed out the fact that I haven’t been paying attention. Oh well.
